Why do you need a dental check up?

Keeping regular visits with your dentist is a proactive approach to maintaining good oral health, without preventative dental care, you are at a greater risk for tooth decay, infection and gum disease.

Here are 4 main reasons why you need regular dental check up and evaluation of your oral health:
  • Early detection of any dental problems is necessary for maintaining a healthy mouth.
  • It keeps you in overall better health.
  • Dental check ups help to avoid pain, emergencies, unnecessary expense and time.
  • Regular dental check ups teach your children good oral hygiene habits that they will carry as they get older and that will prevent them from having problems in the future.

What happens during check up?

We complete your check up in a way that is comfortable and relaxing. We understand that some people don’t visit the dentist because they have a dental phobia or are concerned that something may be wrong.

If this is the case, we will treat your tooth gently and carefully so that your health issues can be addressed without causing you any further irritation.

When you come in, our friendly team escorts you to the examination room, after which we will take digital x-rays of your teeth and gums to see if there are any infections or decay that are under the surface.

We also perform a visual exam of your gums and each one of your teeth. During this time, we look for signs of infection, tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer.

If we identify any of these issues, we will discuss treatment options with you and may even be able to treat minor cavities that day.

We also evaluate and look at your existing dental work such as implants, crowns, and bridges among others.

Before starting any procedures we will discuss them in detail to ensure that you are comfortable and relaxed.
